3 Reasons Why You Need a Business Coach (Even if You’re an Established Business)

We think hiring a business coach is one of the best decisions you can make for your business (we might be a tad bit biased 😜). But having someone who can help you with your business’s ups and downs is great for your sanity and for getting actionable advice to help you uplevel your business.

In this blog, we’re talking about three reasons why you need a business coach. And here’s the thing, we’re talking to all you established business owners out there because, from our experience, you could use someone in your corner.

Reason 1: There’s not a lot of info out there

We’ve noticed a lack of higher-level education out there geared toward established business owners looking to figure out their next move in business. There are resources for business newbies and gigantic corporations, but there isn’t much for those of us that fall in-between.

You can google all you want, but applying that info to your business is challenging. That’s where a business coach comes in handy. With a business coach, you gain a trusted advisor who will guide you to a path of success. They will put things in perspective and provide you with invaluable ideas and strategies. Cause it’s no secret that running a business is hard. Some challenges might include not having enough leads, confusing systems, no time, no marketing strategy, etc. A business coach will help you through these challenges and offer feedback and a plan!

Now to talk about the Incubator. We (Emylee and Abagail) are your business coaches and have a whole team of experts in various categories who are also involved in the Incubator. And since we’re a group coaching program, we’re also surrounded by other kicka** business owners who are experts in their own right—providing their insights and experiences. So, there’s no shortage of education going on in the Incubator, and that’s important to have as a business owner.

Reason 2: You’ve hit an income ceiling

Hitting an income ceiling can feel scary. You’ve got your business to this amazing milestone, but at the same time, you’re still overwhelmed with the workload. Does this resonate with you? You can’t take on more clients because you’re at capacity, and you can’t hire more help because you don’t have the cash flow. This is what we call the Cycle of DoomTM.

Business owners come to us in the Cycle of Doom™, feeling stressed out and unsure of their next steps. So, where does a business coach come in? First, you need a fresh perspective. When you’re too in the weeds of your business, it can be easy to overlook the obvious. The new view of a business coach can help you identify problems and solutions you would have never thought of. Not only that, but a business coach will assist you in creating a strategic, business-boosting plan.

Honestly, the Incubator (another shameless plug) is the coaching program to get yourself out of the Cycle of Doom™. We talk to business owners daily, and the Cycle of Doom is a constant theme. It’s easy to get there yet somehow really hard to get yourself out of it. In the Incubator, we work through what’s happening in your business and strategically plan to get you out of it.

Reason 3: You’re ready to hire but not sure how

This one is a biggie for established business owners. Hiring isn’t everything it’s made out to be. There are a lot of rules and regulations that you have to figure out and follow. Not to mention, it can be costly. We’re not saying you should never hire someone, but we think it’s worth asking yourself a handful of questions before you do! There’s a lot to think about when you are ready to hire. Questions like…

  • Should you even hire?

  • Who should be your first or your next hire?

  • How do you ethically hire?

  • What’s the actual hiring process?

  • What does onboarding look like?

  • Does the pricing of your services need to change?

These questions deserve a more extensive conversation than just the one you’re having in your head (no shame in the “talking to yourself game”). BUT this deserves expert knowledge, someone who has been through it before, and a plan to help you make the right moves. We’re having hiring conversations inside the Incubator all the time. In fact, there’s a whole section in the Incubator about hiring. Including a team calculator, so you know how to price appropriately.

If you're curious about what it would look like to hire a business coach or work with us inside the Incubator, then you should apply! It opens us up to discuss with you so we can learn more about your business and goals. Once you use to send us a DM, so your application moves to the front of the list!
