When is the "Right" Time to Work on Your Business

You’re technically working “on your business” all the time, but what about the time you take out to learn from someone else? To get new insights and ideas, what to do differently, growth strategies and guidance? Your schedule is so full that you hardly even have time to do the things outside of work that you enjoy, much less focus on business education.

You know that you need outside help, but you continue to push it back because you’re waiting for the “right” time, for a moment where you feel like you have more time on your calendar to dedicate to it. The thing is, how many other things are you waiting until that calendar space opens up for you to get to it?

Keep reading to find out when is actually the right time to work on your business and the importance of actively prioritizing education, so you can start seeing drastic changes quickly.

The “Right” Time is…
Never.

Yep, it’s never the “right” time to work on your business. If you keep waiting for that magical space in your schedule to open up, it will never happen. You have to make the conscious decision to prioritize and stick to it. We know it’s easier said than done, but we’ve witnessed people with extremely busy schedules still find the time to make it work and see amazing progress because of it.

Our clients have a lot on their plates. We have a client who homeschools 7 (yes, SEVEN) children, is in the process of building a home, and is multi-passionate, and she’s been able to 6x her investment in less than 90 days with The Incubator.

We understand busy seasons, and we also understand busy seasons that never seem limited to a single “season” and, instead, they seem to last year-round. However, when you actively put your business growth and education at the forefront of time spent working, you’re able to make the necessary changes all due to the quick responsiveness, fresh outside perspectives, and expert knowledge that you receive– all in much less time than if you tried to do it alone.

Not Everything is on Fire

There comes a time when you need to learn the difference between urgency and importance. Not everything is on fire in your business and needs your immediate attention! On the same note, not everything you’re doing is providing you with a positive ROI, so it’s important to take a step back and really assess if the things that are taking up your time are really worth it at the moment.

When you continue to put out fires that don’t exist, you’ll feel like you’re accomplishing a lot of tasks, but you aren’t actually accomplishing any growth or moving forward in your business. The goal is to be in control of what’s going on around you, not just reacting to it.

How to Create Time in Your Schedule for Growth

Because to put it simply, the time won’t be there unless you make it. This means dedicating one day out of the week to business education, adjusting your office hours, creating canned email responses, or setting up automated systems. The time is there, you just have to make it work with you rather than against you. Approximately half of our time is spent on growth-based activities, and as much as it served as the building blocks to creating the business we always dreamed of, it continues to move our business forward and provide a positive ROI.

Find a minimum of 4 hours per week that you can dedicate to business education and self-development– no matter if it’s a 4-hour block once a week or around 45 minutes per business day. Your business can thrive, and if you need help seeing that, then grab your ticket to The Freedom Era Virtual Conference, so we can help you breathe life back into your business before burnout defines you.

The virtual conference is happening on March 29th and with tickets only being $47, there’s no questioning whether to attend! You’ll learn how to create a life-first business, premium pricing strategies, eliminating red flags and toxic behaviors in your business, and more.

We know you want to grow your business to meet the level you pictured when you first started. Make the decision to block off this one day to business development, so we can help you see how simple and fun your business can be again.
