Where My Journey Began Earlier this Year
To tell you where I’m going, I have to tell you where it all started. Not too long ago, I recorded an episode about my existential crisis. My mother had brain surgery while she was pregnant with my sister. Early this year, it was the 30-year anniversary of the procedure, and I was the exact same age as she was when it happened. Beyond being a reminder of the trauma of being a young child while my mom went through this, I was affected because of the extreme uncertainty of what would come next in my life. I had ticked all the boxes that society tells us to check! And it was wonderful. But I didn’t know what was next. It was very difficult.
The Messy Beginning of a Brand New Chapter
After over a year of searching, it finally clicked. I was in a new season! This was the beginning of a new chapter. I was excited about what was to come, but things were really murky until I decided to embrace that. In an instant, it all fell into place. Almost overnight, I went from panicked and frustrated to feeling like I had a ton to do but also like I had full clarity about moving forward. So, I canceled everything and made a really big pivot. In less than a week, I went from one sale and the biggest flop of a workshop I had ever done to signing up nearly 700 people for my Untitled Workshop. For me, it’s never only been about business. You have a life and your business fits into it. I know your life is constantly impacting how you show up.
What Safety, Security, and Stability Mean to Me
Most people who start or run a business seek some sort of freedom they don’t feel like they have. They want their business to reward them both financially and with time flexibility. My own search for safety and security was not like that! I realized that, for me, this all started with a craving for a sense of stability I had never experienced before. Even though my parents did the best they could, I never felt grounded. As an adult, it took a lot of failed experiences and trial and error to uncover what wealth truly means. For a year and a half, I worried about not being worried anymore. Then, I took a deep breath and realized what I have and just how much I want you to have that too.
What it Really Means to Need Your Business to Work for You
I’m in a position today where I can retire 21 years before the average American. I know how much of a privilege this is! I could only do this because my business afforded me the opportunity to unlock the connections and knowledge I needed to get here. The passionate desire to start a business is so inspiring that it will get you through the hard days. That money is so motivating that it will get you excited to take the next step. That time flexibility is so sexy that you can’t resist working harder for it. In other words, building your business becomes a necessity for your life. For me, being laid off a second time pushed me to start this business. A month later, I found myself in hospital from a traumatic brain injury. I am no stranger to needing a business to work, and I know just how much you are likely to need that too!
How I Changed All My Plans Overnight and Why
Many of us have similar goals, but society is really bad at rewarding us for following a typical career path. Until now, I was focused on people on the cusp of making their businesses work for them, but there are people at every point along the way who could benefit from this support. I want to support people at every level of business. I want to help you get unstuck. I literally changed all of my plans to facilitate this! You can watch the video to find out how I did this. This was not a wise financial decision, but it is one that is deeply rooted in impact. I want to see more of you succeed! I’m not running a non-profit, but my heart is in it to take amazing care of all my staff and clients.

What You Can Expect From What Comes Next
The Co-Op has existed for years. Everything we’ve ever sold in the Creative Template Shop is there. Think of the templates as tools. These are all the things that you either have to show to attract clients or provide to the clients themselves. Now, we’re adding strategy! I am beyond excited to tell you that the Co-Op will now include Course Academy. I’ve opened up the vault and added Trello for Business, the Follow-Through Method, five of our online events, and hundreds of hours of video footage.
What’s coming?
There’s a brand new community launching in September. I’ve been craving a way to help you to connect with one another. It’s an inclusive and safe space welcoming everyone! We lead with our values and prioritize safety for our community. We also have a brand new site launching this year. I also included One Week to Clients, a program I have sold for over $1,000 on its own. I am confident that what I am providing will help you get results without my missteps.
