[PEP TALK] One-Day Launch - Digital Product Fast Track
Episode 843: Show Notes
If you get one thing out of the pep talk I’m about to give you, it’s this. The decisions that you make today are not ones that you are marrying forever. Regardless of what you launch, you have an opportunity. Whatever you put out into the world, whether it works or it doesn’t, is an opportunity to learn. The world is going to tell you something! And you get to listen. As business owners, we often don’t slow down and listen to this nearly as often as we should.
Not everything I have done so far has worked, and I am okay with that! I often learn more from the moments that I would deem as a failure. Today, I don’t want you to focus on what could be the most shareable digital product or what would be the most trendy thing; instead, focus on how to solve a whole problem. A template, a script, a guide, or anything designed to make a real difference. The more concrete results you can get for a client, the more they will assign value to you and your business.
The Story of An Early Failure That You Can Learn From
Other people’s failures tend to make us feel better about our own. That’s why I’m willing to put myself on the chopping block and share some of my own biggest failures in launching. One example of this happened when I had been in business for three years. I had some successful launches behind me, and I had enrolled quite a few people in them. There were some people that were excelling and growing, and I wanted to learn from them. So I invested a ton of money in a mastermind. I made some amazing connections, and I don’t regret that, but I put so much weight on what the teacher gave me, that I put down all of my intuition. I let other people drive the boat. This ended up nearly tanking my whole company. I learned a lesson the hard way. You have to trust your intuition! Even if you make the call, and it ends up being wrong, you get to use that information to make new decisions. That’s freaking incredible!
An Example of What Can Happen When You Think You Have It All Figured Out
I have done big, important things in my business and yet, not everything will hit. I think you need to hear that! You could have a multi-seven-figure business and still have no one resonate. At one point, I had been listening to the needs of my community and I thought I had it all figured out. I created a workshop. I put it out there. And I had one sale! I left it up for a couple of days. Then, I scrapped it. I ended up relaunching the same workshop. When I adjusted the messaging, I went from one sign-up to 700 sign-ups in two weeks! I put it out there and it didn’t work. I listened, and I said, how can I redo this? I got really vulnerable with my audience and let them know that this embarrassed me! The workshop was about sales, and I couldn’t even sell those spots! But you can’t take one small thing that happens in your business and put so much weight on it that it’s defining your worth. It’s one decision on one day! I’ve done so many life-altering, career-changing things, and I’m allowed to have a bad day. What I want you to take from that is that regardless of your results, you need to listen to people, and take them along on the journey with you.
What You Can Learn From My First-Ever Launch
I launched my first ever digital product after I had launched my first course. The first time I approached selling on a one-to-many basis, I announced I was doing it before I even knew how I would deliver it! My friend Emylee started this business with me and has since gone on to start her own endeavors. Together, with nearly no experience, we co-launched this course and a handful of people bought it. We probably made less than $1000. I didn’t consider it a failure at all! I was so excited that people were interested in buying from me. If, at the time, I had heard about all these huge launches, I may have been discouraged by making $500. But I was not! To me, that money was a sign that I could do so much more. Instead of paying myself that money, I reinvested every dime into my business and used it to pay for tools so that I could do more.
A One-Step-At-A-Time Approach To Doing All the Things Your Heart Desires
Maybe your only goal today is to cover the cost of your Teachable subscription, or a continuing education course or coaching with me. Maybe that’s all you want out of this experience, and that is enough! That is a springboard. We get so caught up on things needing to be overnight successes, that we forget they can also be a stepping stone.
They can propel us forward. Not everything has to happen simultaneously! They can happen one step at a time. I’m so excited for you to go out and do this and it’s going to be a little messy, and it’s not going to be perfect, and you’re going to want to go back and make changes, and that’s okay! The goal for today is to prove to yourself that you are capable and that this can take you to wherever you want to go.
You have access to the tools and the resources and the scripts and the templates to make it all possible, and we’re literally giving them to you for free! What are you waiting for? I want to help you launch your first or your next digital product in just one day. All of the steps are laid out for you inside. Dive in! I can’t wait to see everything you do.
