Your knowledge is your currency! For years I feared that what I was doing wasn’t real business and I felt like I had to prove myself. I think we feel strange about this because it’s unfamiliar, not because it’s wrong. The world of traditional business is rapidly changing and you are building an online business at the beginning of the new digital frontier. Of course it’s hard to feel like an expert when everything is just beginning.
When I started teaching online, the old saying, ‘those who can’t do, teach’ haunted me. It forced me to convince myself that what I was doing wasn’t making an impact and it couldn’t have been further from the truth! The internet has changed the way people teach and it will continue to change the way people learn. I need to remind you that you are a pioneer – online business is still in its infancy, you are literally shaping the future, and you have the opportunity to do it exactly how you want to.

The Power of Online Business
It’s so easy to think that the things we’re doing and building are worthless when they’re intangible. But that’s really the beauty of them in the first place. Because there is no storefront, your expertise can be packaged and delivered for anyone globally. You can have clients on every corner of this planet! When my email list had more people on it that could fit in a Chief’s stadium, I could no longer fathom how many people had access to my ideas. Those same ideas have gone on to reach millions of people. My brain simply cannot compute. It’s so easy to feel like you’re playing pretend when you don’t get to see and interact with every client that you do business with. I understand how easy it is to get in your head when you’re missing the feedback loop. You have to believe deep down that the work you’re doing is important because the validation may not come. You don’t need to seek others’ approval to keep going.
The Philosophy That Will Make You Feel Valuable
Because of all these fears, I developed the philosophy that if it only helped one person, that it was worth it. So, it has become much easier to feel good about the work I’m doing when I’m not looking for this massive approval but rather, someone speaking up every now and then. It can feel so lonely and like you’re speaking into the void and no one is listening. But I promise you that there are people paying attention. You would be shocked as to how many people read, and listen, and learn from you and never say a word. Once you shake off that feeling that you’re not enough, I need you to start acknowledging the opportunity that is at your fingertips. You have the ability to make more wealth than you know what to do with. When I started my business, my only goal was to replace my salary. But there is so much more beyond stability and beyond what you think is possible right now. You have the opportunity to break generational curses with your business, just like I have!
The One Thing That’s Holding You Back
I venture to guess that the thing that’s holding you back is not a lack of knowledge. It’s fear. Fear of failing, fear of success, believing that you’re too late. Mindset is the thing that will prevent you from moving to the place that you’re capable of. One of the fears I see is timing but the truth is, there’s never going to be a perfect moment, you just have to start. You just have to get going, and you’re definitely not too late. I promise you, you will never regret starting. A lot of people will also get in their heads about failure. More often than not, the worst-case scenario is you staying exactly where you are now. So, in reality, the worst-case scenario is you not starting at all. You have so much to offer the world! The best possibility is that you will change your life! You accomplish your dreams!
