We have pretty much loved Pinterest since the beginning and were definitely part of the 'Pinterest wedding' generation! You know what we mean! Over time we have watched it evolve and change, thankfully not as much as some other social platforms out there but there has been some definite development and growth since we started using it. We began using Pinterest for business pretty early on in our company history and definitely found that Tailwind helped tremendously with our efforts, so let's hear what Melissa has to say!

What's New with Pinterest Today

Pinterest's focus at the moment is undoubtedly creating the best experience possible for Pinners. This current stage of their strategy started with the introduction of the Smart Feed a few years ago, which was an awesome revelation for businesses, offering more recommendations of relevant content than ever. They have been improving on the formula ever since and combined with advertising and the guided search functions make Pinterest such a great channel for ideas. They are also helping curators compile more high quality content on a regular basis and the fact that Tailwind is now a Pinterest partner, working in collaboration with the platform makes these changes even more effective. Pinterest and Tailwind have helped us so much with generating traffic to our website and there is not really another social site that can compare to it in this regard. Pinterest is still just an amazing discovery tool for great inspiration and products and we all know that traffic is the kind of the first piece in your funnel!

How to Set Your Goals for Pinterest

There are a number of ways to go about setting your goals for Pinterest, you might be looking to grow your followers, increase traffic or boost your sales. Tailwind has guides for all of these pursuits and can help you through these important stages to get you ready for success. You will need to set up you your website properly, keywords and text rich content still rule, setting up your Pinterest boards with the right targeting and creating different boards for the same content are just a few ways you can make some easy progress. Melissa recommends taking advantage of rich pins and to verify your website through Pinterest so that you can utilize advertising and analytics. There is endless opportunity for repins on the platform and one of the ways to keep this going is to use Tailwind's built-in automation tools. These can help you repin content at appropriate intervals and keep your boards looking fresh and energetic. This is the ultimate way to recycle that evergreen content that you have!

The Power of Analytics

Melissa reminds us that you really need to pay attention to what is working once you have pinned items. This is where you can use analytics to get ahead of the game. There are tools from both Pinterest and Tailwind that can help with this, and if you listen to your audience and see what content does well you can narrow and niche down based on that. This is the direct path to Pinterest success! Create new content based on this information and you will be constantly growing and improving! One of the best things about Pinterest is the ability for content to have an almost endless cycle of engagement, it just does not die, so it is never too late to start, get working on these strategies and you really could be killing it ASAP! Pinterest likes to keep things fresh too and are always looking for new and exciting stuff to promote so yours could be next. A great way to stay on top of things is to keep an eye on the Pinterest Business page and the Tailwind blog to know what the latest news is. It is so worth putting in a little bit of time on the platform, we have certainly seen the benefits!
