Why We Started Another Facebook Group

Episode 328: Show Notes

We did this kind of crazy thing and started up yet another Facebook group, while everyone else is shutting them down left and right! What we’re talking about today is the thought process behind it, who the group is for and how you can get your booty inside. This group is specifically designed for service-based entrepreneurs who deliver a creative tangible product, so designers, photographers – listen up! You would have to apply first, but don’t be put off, this is just to make sure that only the most relevant peeps have access, so simply head over to bossproject.com/booked.

It is about our business, but it is just as much about helping you and other creative entrepreneurs grow and get the most relevant, helpful input you can get. Be sure to join us for this episode of Strategy Hour to get all the details!

Introducing The Group And Our Awesome New Resource

So our group is called The Booked Out Creative and, as the name suggests, its purpose is to get you totally booked out! If you’ve worked one-on-one with clients and tried all of the different things, but are wondering where your next client is coming from, how you can learn from others who are in the same line of business and find out how to get consistently good leads, this group is for you. Another resource we are bouncing off the walls about is the eBook we put together. Yes, you heard correctly! It’s a brand new guide about everything that’s working in 2019, including all the unconventional ways people are getting booked out, and get this – without social media (gasp!), without blog traffic, likes, follows or any of that stuff. Simply go to bossproject.com/ebook to grab your copy.

The Inspiration Behind Booked Out Creative

You might remember the Social Media Marketing World conference we went to a couple of months ago. The common theme every single one of the speakers shared was that the thing that was working now is niche intimate conversations. So the question is, how can I get even more specific and personal in the strategies that I’ve already implemented? And for us, this is just like getting back to our roots because when we first started, we could name every person in our Facebook group and tell you what their business is all about and what they’re struggling with. This is the heart of the matter that we would like to get back to.

How We Are Addressing The Need For A More Personal Approach

Knowing everyone in your group is ideal of course, but it’s impossible if you’re growing and your numbers are getting bigger. So we started asking which features of our initial group worked best and would make sense for our expanding business. It all came together because our coach Caitlin Bacher started a group and we watched her utilize it in an entirely new way. What’s more, we believe that this group will allow us to share our own skills and knowledge more effectively because it is honed in on people who it is directly applicable to. It’s great having a large community, but it doesn’t necessarily enable us to bring you our very best in those areas that we have the most experience in.

What Members Can Expect To Gain

We have very specific goals for this group, and you might be surprised, but it does not involve sharing and teaching online strategies. There is so much out there about social media and online marketing, but we want to get back to the basics first. And don’t get us wrong: it’s not that Instagram and email lists don’t work, it’s just that they are not the quick solution they are sometimes made out to be. We would like to give you strategies that could potentially land you a client in 24 hours. We’ve decided that it will be an admin only group, because the questions or conversations that we have curated in there are intentional and directly related to the whole group and we’re trying to help you gain better focus. There is a lot of fluff online, things that distract, so we want to get right to the core of things and engage with members on a much more individual level.

How It Is Different From Your Average Facebook Group

In the past, many of the groups have been open to anyone and you could post as long as you weren’t spam-y, there was thread upon thread of not-so-relevant information. But the problem with these groups is that so much is coming from it all the time, so after a while people don’t pay attention anymore. With the new group, we want to have real conversations about your business and communicate meaningfully. Many of us waste time doing things that don’t really serve a purpose. So you have to be really careful not to do things just for the sake of doing them and be selective about who you follow and what groups you belong to. They can be super distracting and not really give meaningful input.
