Our Words of the Year for 2019

Hello all of you wonderful listeners! We are so glad to have you back for this very important episode of our podcast! You know what time of year it is and you know we have done this before. Yes, it is time for us to each choose a word of intention for the coming year and to make sure that 2019 is the best one yet! While preparing for this episode we listened back to some of our previous words and New Years’ ideas and got some serious flashbacks! They feel so long ago but at the same time are still fresh in our minds.

Now we have to be honest, we came up with these words this morning! But at the same time we have probably been mentally preparing these ideas for ages now and in the episode you will hear all the background to why we chose our specific words and the pieces that came together to make this quick decision. Our Words for Previous Years
To start things off we are going to recap some of previous words of the year! The first time we did this, at the beginning of 2017, Abagail chose the word ‘embrace’ and it really reflected the space she and the business were in at the time. Her word for 2018 was ‘empower’ and this was about wanting to be able to just give more to people and serve them better. For 2017, Emylee chose the word ‘blend’ and this related to family, change and bringing together all the different parts of her life. Her 2018 words was ‘Oprah’, which she choose for the constant inspiration she finds in her and wanting to embody some more of her larger than life, grand energy and decision making. This brings us to this year and the business of the day!
Abagail’s Word for 2019!
A big thing for Abagail for the coming year is to continue to improve herself. She wants to carry on growing, and serving and learning better what she can control. Many years ago her therapist said to her that the only two things you can control are how you act and how you react. This made a huge, huge, huge impact on her! And is something she is still trying to manifest fully. During 2018, Abagail feels that she made serious progress with the ‘act’ part of that equation but could give some more attention to her reactive nature and so her word for 2019 is ‘react’! It also embodies the idea and symbolism of a diamond, something that she has been visualizing for the last couple of months. The process that a diamond undergoes from a rough piece of coal and the alchemy that creates a diamond, this reaction really represents what she wants her year to be like. This includes leadership and service, personal and business relationships and self-awareness.
Emylee’s Word for 2019!
A big part of Emylee’s recent philosophy has been about not overthinking and doing what feels good and easy. By the time you are hearing this episode she and the family will have moved into a new home, something that means the world to them. The feeling that this move is giving her, the idea of finding a space that can serve her and her family properly that is not a stepping stone onto something else is what she would like to take into the new year and so her word is ‘ease’. Emylee really wants to bring this idea and energy into all the aspects of her life, like taking a breath after making the right decision.
Looking Forward to Next Year
If someone was to look at the business from a certain angle, it would definitely look a lot like a growth phase at the moment and we are both so grateful for the growth we have experienced in the last twelve months. We feel stronger, wiser and better moving into the new year but we are always still figuring things out! We have both learned that experience really is the best teacher and you cannot skip the process, leveling up only happens with patience. Emylee wants to take this ‘ease’ into her decision making and use this concept to guide her choices. We both are really interested to see the effect of these words and concepts of on our work in the coming months and how we move forward. We do know how much easier any situation is with the right intentions and how much energy and love you can open up with your attitude. We are all still learning and trying to implement the lessons we learn and we are so grateful to have you here for the ride!
