Episode 252: Show Notes
Do you know that things need to change but have no idea what change actually means? Do you often get anxious, overwhelmed, and not have a clue what you want? Well, you’re not alone! This is a common season that every entrepreneur goes through at one point or another and it’s something that can happen over and over again. We specifically feel this around contentment; it’s a weird mix of feelings where we don’t know what we like and we’re not too sure of what we don’t like. It ends up being a ton of back and forth and ultimately we’re left feeling overwhelmed.
In today’s episode we’re tackling this head on! We are getting a peek into Emylee’s brain and talking about some of her experiences with anxiety. We’re discussing how to redefine what we want, recognize whether it’s even something we want to be saying yes to, and finding some of sort clarity amongst the chaos. Moon and Planets Influence What?
Do the moon and the planets influence things it all? Well, we’re not too sure how we feel about this, but we do know that the moon has an effect on the tide so how can it not possibly have an effect on us too? If you’re really into the moons, stars, horoscopes, and planets vibe then that’s cool. Maybe your moon is in retrograde and you just need a time out. Regardless whether it’s the universe, the year you were born, you’re turning 30, or your daughter is walking and talking and will soon have the ability to make fun of you, (yes that already happens to us) no doubt something is happening and it’s causing you to feel and act this way.
Too Tired To Care
Are you constantly tired? Emylee has been in a bit of a tired slump lately. Early morning gym workouts has left her feeling energy-less. We’ve both upped our vitamin B12 intake but haven’t seen much of a difference. We know it could possibly be hormone related, vitamin and mineral related in terms of energy and being tired, but is that it? We were talking to someone about the weather and being tired. She lives on an island and was telling us how if you live closer to the equator you need significantly more water. It takes time to adjust to the environmental changes when someone moves there. So we’re wondering, and you cannot deny how crazy hot it’s been outside lately, could that be causing the tired “slump”? Maybe your body just can’t handle it. On the positive flip side of this sh*t show that’s been happening is that Emylee’s skin has never been more clear. YAY!
What Do You Want?
Figuring out what you want tends to be hard in general, and when you’re in a “slump” it’s even worse. It comes in waves; you’ll come crashing down where you question your entire life and then something will be fine and then a couple months will pass and then the cycle will repeat itself. It tends to have an affect on our productivity, not just in terms of business but personally too.
Identifying It And Figuring It Out
You need to help get yourself up and out of the ‘slump’ that you’re in. If Emylee had to list stuff she’s irritated with, it would be pages and pages. There are things that she is ambivalent about and that’s the stuff she wants to be done with and never have to think about again. It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with not being able to identify what you want. Feeling like you can’t even verbalize what you want to change in order to be able to recognize how to change it and make it different? Yes, Emylee knows that feeling all too well. You need to identify and verbalize it in order to be able to get out of it. Instead of trying to figure out what you want, eating better or exercising more, you need to figure out what’s going to help you become a little more calm and mindful so that anxiety doesn’t take over your life.
