How to Use Testimonials to Attract Your Dream Clients

Client testimonials are the proof in the pudding to potential clients about how amazing you are. You need to be able to back up your claims of being able to achieve XYZ results for your clients and the wonderful experience you provide. Not only do they serve as a diverse marketing asset that you can repurpose in numerous ways, but they’re also like hanging those sticky fly traps.

The fact of the matter is that dreamy clients know other dreamy clients. As soon as you land who you consider a dream client, you have to use that person and their testimonial for every referral or potential client that you can because you’ll get even more like-minded clients from them. 

So in what ways can you use testimonials to signal more dream clients that they should work with you?

First, You Have to Make Sure You’re Getting Awesome Testimonials

Before you have testimonials to use in your content marketing strategy, there are a couple of other things you have to master first:

People want to know how you cared for your clients, how they enjoyed the experience of working with you, how attentive you were to their needs, and overall how you made them feel. How to Use Testimonials in Your Marketing

It’s very unlikely that anyone will take just your word alone when it comes to spending their own hard-earned money, especially if you’re charging VIP prices. After all, how likely are you to purchase something on Amazon if it has 0 or very few reviews? Testimonials are the big guns you bring out to sway someone to push that button to book a call. So, how can you use them in your marketing to attract more dream clients!

1. WORK REGULAR CLIENT FEATURE POSTS INTO YOUR SOCIAL CONTENT

Remember that the amount of followers you get isn’t a direct reflection of the amount of traffic your profile may get every day. It’d be a great idea to post a client testimonial in your feed regularly with beautiful client feature graphics. You can tell the story of what it was like working with them in the caption, and be sure to tag them, so they can get some traffic from your post.

2. USE VIDEO TESTIMONIALS TO CREATE VIDEO CONTENT

Video testimonials are an awesome twist to the usual text and image posts of featuring clients. Especially now that video content has completely taken over almost all social platforms, it’s more likely that your post will get seen if it’s a video.

Reach out to clients and ask if it’s something they’d be interested in. If you were sure to provide an amazing client experience, it’s likely they’ll be more than happy to oblige. People love helping people they care about (and that care about them), and they want to be the reason you land your next client.

You can share video testimonials on your feed, in your Stories, as Instagram Reels, TikToks, and especially be sure to create a Stories Highlight for testimonials on your Instagram profile, so potential clients can visit a central place on your profile to view all the nice things your clients have to say about you.

3. CREATE CASE STUDY BLOG POSTS

Really dive into each individual client’s project by writing case studies on your blog. With case studies, you get to more deeply explain:

  • An introduction to the client, what they do, and basically all the things that make them your ideal client (which will simultaneously attract clients just like them)

  • What challenges and pain points they faced before you came along

  • What made you stand out from the sea of other service providers offering the same services as you

  • How you implemented the solution to their problems + why it worked

  • The results that they were able to achieve thanks to your services

If you’ve read this blog post already, you’ll notice that most of these points are things we encouraged you to specifically ask your clients when requesting a testimonial from them. This makes it super easy to compile, expand upon, and format that information for your case study! Be sure to include plenty of CTAs, a client headshot, and any supporting visuals (like charts, graphics, and other compiled data).

4. ADD TESTIMONIALS TO YOUR EMAIL SEQUENCES AND PROMOTIONAL EMAILS

If you have an email list with a welcome sequence that new subscribers go through that introduces you and your business and gently leads into a pitch, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity if you aren’t including client testimonials in your sequence, including launch and promotional emails.

You can either sprinkle them throughout your emails, have an email in your sequence or launch plan dedicated just to sharing them, or both! How you choose to include them is up to you, but we recommend testing to see what produces the best results based on your audience.
