This program is specifically designed to move you and your business forward by identifying your most viable offer, packaging and selling it, and creating a WOW! experience for your customers, as well as walking you through your marketing game plan and, of course, the launch itself. In this episode, we cover how selfishness is the thing that will keep you motivated, why you need a Tinder-level offer right now, and the best way to use people in order to land more dreamy clients, plus a whole lot more! Tune in to find out everything you need to know to fully benefit from this powerful opportunity to get yourself out there and get started today!

Know the Why Behind Your Why

You have probably heard the phrase “know your why” countless times before, but we want to come at it from a slightly different angle. It is not just about knowing your why, but knowing the why behind your why too, because it’s that next level why is what is going to keep you motivated when you feel overwhelmed. We also want to assure you that it is okay to be a little selfish here! Your why doesn’t have to be a fully realized mission statement. It can be whatever you want it to be, whether that is spending more time with your family, buying a new TV, or taking that dream island vacation you have always wanted. We talk about this with our students all the time: we love your long-term oversized goals, from nationwide recognition and writing books to booking speaking gigs and having a massive impact on your community, but your short-term mini goals are equally important. In fact, we would go so far as to say that you can’t achieve your long-term goals without your short-term ones, so go ahead! Give yourself weekly why’s, monthly why’s, next Tuesday why’s. These are the building blocks for realizing your big dreams.

One Single Offer

If we can give you just one piece of business advice, it’s that you’re probably making it way too complicated. Never underestimate the value of one clear, concise, strategic offer! Abagail remembers when we started our service-based business together and our ‘work with us’ page looked like The Cheesecake Factory menu. There was so much going on! As a result, we struggled to clearly describe any of our offerings and we were spreading ourselves way too thin. One of the first things that totally revolutionized our business was cutting it back. Now, we know people get nervous when we start talking about a single offer but, remember, this doesn’t have to be the one thing you sell for the rest of your life; it’s just the next thing. Think of it as your Tinder booty call offer. It’s the flavor of the week that is going to keep you warm for the night. You don’t have to get married to it!

Use a System that Can Do it All

When we started our business, we had to custom design proposals and cash hand-written checks from our clients, but you don’t have to! There is a system out there that makes it all insanely easy: Dubsado. You have definitely already heard us singing Dubsado’s praises, but we truly believe it is the most powerful tool out there to help your business stay in motion. Build relationships, schedule appointments, and create workflows to streamline your projects from start to finish, all in one place! Start with a trial using the link at the bottom of the show notes. It’s free for your first three clients. Instead of sending a calendar invite using one platform, sending emails using another, and organizing your client relationships on a separate system, trust us, just use Dubsado. We promise it will revolutionize the way you do business.

Identify People You Already Know You Can Solve a Problem For

Now, how are you going to find people to share your single strategic offer with? Spoiler alert: you already know them! This might sound crazy, but Abagail and Emylee have never met someone who sold their very first product to someone they didn’t know. We suggest making a list. Once you know what your offering is, think about who needs it. Whose problem can you solve with that offer? We’re not saying it will be a perfect fit for all of the people on your list or even that you have to reach out to all of them, but start by talking to two or three of them. Share how you believe you can solve their problem, how your offering will work for them, what it could unlock for them. Focus less on the nitty gritty details of what you are delivering and more on what it can do for them.

There are various ways to approach this depending on your personality type, who you know, and how you think you can drive those connections, but the base level is simply focusing on the connections that you already have and leveraging them to your benefit. Remember, relationships are the most vital part of any business!

What You Can Keep Doing to Scale (What is Actually Leading to Conversions?)

While you might not see a tangible conversion during the course of the 5 Days to Launch Challenge, we want you to start to pay attention to the decisions you make and how you spend your time. Which of those decisions is actually leading to further conversations, discovery calls, or even bookings with your ideal clients? To Emylee, this is where small business owners’ brains get cloudy. We like to tell ourselves that posting on Instagram, writing a blog post, investing in SEO, or (insert typical digital marketing behavior here) is what led a client to book, but we can almost guarantee that that isn’t the case. Again, we suggest keeping it simple and sticking with what you know. Do more of what is already working!

Sometimes, you have to look quite far back in the process to see where your clients are actually coming from but, the more you know, the more you can clear the clutter. We have ignored hundreds of popular and potentially convertible marketing strategies because it’s not where our clients were coming from. Just because it can work, doesn’t mean it will work for your business!

Utilize Previous Clients to Get Referrals

Sticking to what you know can be the difference between spending four hours a week planning your Instagram content versus making a call to one person who consistently gives you quality referrals. If you have landed a client already, even if it’s not for the offer you are crafting or perfecting during the 5 Days to Launch Challenge, guess what? They already know your skills, your work ethic, your personality, they trust you, they like you, and they are more than likely to refer you. The trick is learning how to ask for referrals! First, stick to your most common form of communication. If you’re on texting terms, don’t send them a formal email! Next, don’t be afraid to compliment them and tell them how excited you are about the project you are currently working on with them.

If you have a close personal relationship with them, you can even tell them your why before asking them to do you a favor and share who they think would be interested in what you are offering. Emphasis on the word ‘favor’ here! People are more likely to say yes to a favor than a referral. Lastly, get them to commit immediately and suggest what kind of referral would be most convenient, whether that’s a virtual introduction over social media or copying you in on an email. If that is too much to ask or it gets awkward, never underestimate the value of getting a list of names and reaching out to them yourself!

Have a Plan to Keep Talking About Your Offer

The last thing you need to know to make the most of our 5 Days to Launch Challenge is boring but effective: have a plan to keep talking about your amazing single offer. How are you going to keep bringing it up? We often feel like others are going to tire of hearing us talk about the same product over and over again, but it’s the best way to drive your message home and ensure that you are top of mind next time they are looking for something similar. Thanks to our increasingly short TikTok-generation attention spans, repetition is key.

We want to help by being there for you through this process. If you haven’t had a chance yet, head over to The Creative Template Shop because we are your marketing department! Abagail and Emylee are going to help you market that offer and give you the tools you need to simplify every aspect of this process, specifically if you need to get your proposal page up or a client onboarding guide. Consider our membership as an opportunity to make the whole process a whole lot easier so that you can spend more time doing the work and less time trying to figure out how to market it.
