Why I Built “Email List Jumpstart”

At the end of last year, I realized I needed to put myself out there in a big way. After years of slowing down and growing complacent, I decided 2024 would be my year of visibility. This shift led to a dramatic increase in my efforts to attract new people and build my email list. By mid-year, I had added nearly 10,000 leads – five times more than all of last year!

This surge wasn’t just luck. I experimented with different strategies and discovered what’s working right now in today’s market. Through these efforts, I learned that many of you – about 43% – don’t have an email list, while another 50% have fewer than 1,000 subscribers. This gap in lead generation is what inspired me to create Email List Jumpstart. Because regardless of the size of your business, if you’re not focused on getting more leads, you Email List Jumpstart will inevitably run out of leads.

When I first started my business what I had really built for myself was a job. I didn't call it that, though, I called it my business. I may have had my own clients, but if I wasn't at my desk, for whatever reason, there was no business. It really took my world turning upside down for me to realize that what I had built wasn't sustainable. I dedicated myself to rebuilding from the ground up, focusing on strategies that were going to work, for when I was there and when I wasn’t.

I needed a business that was going to allow me to prioritize life first. Even as I’m recording this, I have a family member in the hospital, and I’ve had to put a lot on pause. But my business is still working for me, even though I can’t be fully present. I’m so grateful that I’ve built a business where, if I walk away for a period of time, it will keep working for me. None of this would have been possible without an email list. And I can't imagine the business I have today without the community I've built online.

Why Email Works

Here's the thing. Yes, people can listen to this podcast whenever they want. People can watch and engage with my content on social. And I love both of those platforms – don’t get me wrong. They serve their position in my marketing world. But email is uniquely different. It is a one-to-one relationship. No one else is going to see that email, except for me and my team. It’s an intimate opportunity to get to know people and have a level of closeness that is almost impossible to replicate anywhere else.

What to Expect From “Email List Jumpstart”

This program is different from any other course I've ever built to date. As things stand, it consists of two companion courses, part one, and part two. The first one is called ‘1000 Subscriber Roadmap.’ Inside that program, I’ll be helping you identify your first (or next) lead magnet. Then I’ll help you build it out from there, from the structure to all the technical nitty-gritty stuff, and market it effectively.
