You're Right on Time: The Grounding, Mindset Shift, and Action Plan to Get You to Where You Want to Go with Amber McCue
Episode 841: Show Notes
What if, instead of worrying that you are running out of time in your business or that your plans are delayed, you accepted that you are right on time for your own destiny? Today I am joined by Amber McCue, a woman who went from being an 18-year-old single mom to owning three companies that allow her to work from anywhere in the world. Amber grew her first business to a multi-million-dollar company from just a side hustle! She knew her business was going to be a success when she encountered what she calls ‘right on time’ moments that nudged her in the right direction and she still looks out for them 14 years later. In this episode, we talk about the concept of being ‘right on time.’ This conversation is so life-changing— I can’t wait for you to hear it.
Why You Cannot Be Late for Your Destiny
After consistently telling her clients that they were ‘right on time’ for more than a year, Amber realized that being present, practicing patience, and surrendering were essential elements of success. Amber wants her clients to practice surrender and detachment from the outcomes. When you feel attached to an outcome, changing your physicality to become more open can prompt a different feeling in your body. It’s important to differentiate between the things you can and cannot control. Amber wants you to plan, create, and have a vision with an ideal timeline while recognizing that things may not always go to plan. That helps you open yourself up to the possibility of magic happening!
Detaching from Outcomes in Your Business
Detaching from outcomes requires a massive shift in perspective and a mindful approach to rewiring the way you attach yourself to your business. Amber shares some examples of responses to certain scenarios and shows us the difference between being attached versus detached from outcomes. Instead of worrying that an idea won’t work when it’s going wrong, try and see what happens! Rather than waiting until you reach a certain goal to do things in your business, decide to be happy and do what you want to do now. When a curveball is thrown at you, try something else given your new circumstances instead of believing that your project is ruined. You have the power to change these thoughts!
The ‘Try it on’ Visualization
Try to remember going through puberty and how ridiculous you felt and looked when trying to figure out how you wanted to present yourself to the world. If you think about it, your business isn’t that much different. You get to make all the decisions about your business and while that can be intimidating, the trial-and-error aspect of it is simply part of the process of building your business. Amber invites you to attempt her ‘try it on’ visualization method to walk yourself through what certain decisions will look like in your business. When using this method, it's also important to ground yourself in your ‘why’ to stay true to your vision and mission.
Gifting ‘Right on Time’ to Other People
Gifting the idea of being ‘right on time’ to other people is such an important part of your journey and it’s how Amber started embracing the concept of ‘right on time’ in the first place. You have to live, breathe, and practice this principle so that when other people are not on time, you can extend compassion and embody being ‘right on time.’ When you extend the idea of ‘right on time’ to other people, you really get to practice it and check your thoughts. You will be so surprised at the power of the relationships you can create when you approach people with compassion and curiosity. That, in turn, will allow you to fully embrace and embody being ‘right on time!’
How Being ‘Right on Time’ Ties into Resilience
When Amber and her family’s move to Africa got delayed by eight months (after all of their possessions had been moved already), she practiced patience and surrender and reminded herself that they were ‘right on time’ and magic was coming! And she was right! It was the most incredible journey that taught her so much about herself. In hard moments, you need to remind yourself that you cannot quit and that good things are on the horizon. Amber wants you to be open, curious, and alert when looking out for the opportunities that hardships present you with. You are likely going to experience terrible things in your life. But every single thing you go through impacts you and how you show up in the world and there is so much power in how you surrender to those situations. If you want to start practicing the idea of being ‘right on time,’ check out the Right On Time Meditation Amber has prepared for you.
