How to Launch in Five Days and the 8 Secret Steps to Success

Episode 074: Show Notes

We are here today to congratulate all of you who just came through on the other side of the glorious hill after finishing our free Five Days to Launch Challenge. In this episode, we are going to do a quick recap of what the heck you all learned in the challenge and maybe try to give you one more boost of energy to keep trucking forward. Plus, we are going to give you an invitation to another free challenge for you to learn even more awesome, amazing things for your business.

We have been so impressed by the community that was able to take an idea that they had, turn it into a product, and get it to market in five days. We are briefly going to go over the steps the participants took, so if you missed the challenge and you want to figure out what the heck they did, definitely stay tuned because you can participate in our next one for sure. We are definitely going to do this again because it was an absolute party and, as you know, we will be here again probably in like a week or so giving you a full recap of the challenge and a behind the scenes look from our end. So if this is something that you guys are wanting to incorporate in your own business, you can just copy and paste what we did because we had a blast!

Discovering Your Most Viable Product (MVP)

On day one of the challenge, we talked about figuring out what your MVP is - your MVP is your most variable product. That is simply what you are good at and what you could take to market quickly without having to learn any new skills, any new process, or having to manufacture anything. What do you already have on your table that you can finish sorting out and to bring to the world? Because you guys are pretty freaking talented. We know you already have the skills in place to sell something, you are just not necessarily utilizing them. So we talked through how to take those skills and then go and validate that idea with your audience. Traditionally, we want to create something that fulfils our need. So you have to validate that idea and get it in front of other people.

Understanding Your Three P’s: Product, Package, and Price

On day two, we took your MVP and we created a product from it. Sometimes you do not necessarily have the words surrounding it or you haven’t totally nailed it down. So we worked on nailing it down, really packaging it up, adding the value and then we set a price. We know that this step can end up making people flounder a lot and so we tried to make it as simple as possible for you to just take the information, make a few decisions, and move forward. So many people get stuck on picking a price. But, simply put, you have to do this step and you have to do it quickly otherwise you’re going to just slow yourself down.

Setting Up Shop and Getting Your Product Out

On day three, we worked on setting up shop and getting your product out there and listed. We also worked on the main four pages that you need on your site. Now, a lot of you tend to overthink which platform to be on or what website to use. That tends to be a barrier for people and they don’t necessarily know how to wade through the information. At the end of the day, all of these platforms have a cost and they all have their pros and cons and ultimately, you just need to pick one and move forward with it. You can always change. If it does not work out, there is always the option to move platforms, or to change sites. But in the end, setting up your shop is one of those things that has to happen in order for people to buy from you online. This is the thing that’s going to up level your business, and it’s the thing that everyone is going to check out as soon as you have a business.

Creating Your Game Plan and Marketing Strategy

So then on day four we wrote, literally wrote, your marketing game plan for you. This is our absolute piece of the puzzle and we gave you some tactics on what different social platforms, or timings, or types of messages you could have. Regardless of whether you guys have one social media platform or none, it is really nice to get that bird's eye view of all the moving pieces that are happening when you are in a public launch for something. It is really about getting clear on how you’re going to get that product out there. We even talked a bit about pre-selling if that’s something that you need to be doing. For some of you, that was a bit scary and a bit of a leap but you all did it!

Five Days to Launch, Launch, Baby!

Finally, on day five we got to launch all of your amazing products. Once your marketing plan is created, all you literally have to do is build up the hype, and become like your stage version of yourself. You become the Sasha Fierce of Beyonce. You are no longer just Beyonce on the stage. You get to talk about your product, you get to hype it up, you get to remind people about it, you get to welcome people in your doors or in your cart, or however it works for you. Those days are so exciting that you just become this different type of business owner and it’s awesome. We saw you all launch some amazing things and I know you’re going to do even more with them in the future.
