Why Dubsado is the #1 CRM for Service-Based Businesses

If you’ve been a reader of our blog for a while, you may have picked up on something: We. Love. Dubsado. Like, we’re quite possibly the world’s biggest Dubsado fans. We recommend it to every single service provider we know because that’s just how much we believe in the results that it can achieve service-based businesses.

But we know that there are those who have their doubts about whether Dubsado really is the best, not just in our eyes. So, in this blog post, we want to break down exactly why Dubsado is the #1 CRM for service-based businesses.

Save Money on Multiple Tools for Your Business

When Dubsado says they’re an all-in-one CRM, they really live up to it. Every tool you would need to successfully and smoothly run your business is available right inside of Dubsado, even the more minute ones that you may have not even thought to be that important! They can take care of:

  • Scheduling appointments

  • Creating and sharing forms (proposals, contracts, questionnaires, and lead capture forms)

  • Canned email templates

  • Digital packages that can be added to proposals

  • Automating processes with workflows

  • Displaying your calendar (and even syncing with calendars like Google, Apple, and other applications)

  • Time tracking (and generating invoices based on time tracked for projects)

  • Bookkeeping with simple, user-friendly features

  • Tracking financial goals

  • Organizing leads and jobs

  • Giving clients their own lounge with the client portal

See? They have everything!

Create Beautiful and Branded Forms

The drag and drop form builder makes it beyond easy to create those forms we just mentioned. You can customize everything about them to your liking, and make it perfectly branded. We really love Dubsado for not putting their branding on anything that you create or send out to your clients, so everything is purely 100% you and your business.

If you own a domain, you can personalize the Dubsado domain settings so that even the links Dubsado generates aren’t branded when sharing the public link to a form or the client portal. (We’ll talk more about public forms and the portal later in this post.) For example, the portal link would simply be portal.yourdomain.com instead of the usual hello.dubsado.com links.

Automate with Workflows

Our absolute favorite feature of Dubsado is workflows! We’re two gals who love automating anything and everything, so this is a complete life-saver. With workflows, you can automate your processes, like your onboarding flow, to make everything as streamlined as possible.

You’re able to add steps to your workflow like:

  • Sending emails

  • Creating todos

  • Sending forms

  • Activating the portal

  • Sending appointment schedulers

  • Adding tags

  • Changing project status

  • Archiving projects

  • Creating invoicesSending emails

  • Creating todos

  • Sending forms

  • Activating the portal

  • Sending appointment schedulers

  • Adding tags

  • Archiving projects

  • Creating invoices

Piece them together, and you just saved yourself a world of time and stress by not having to manually worry about every little step in your processes! For a deeper dive into workflows and how to build them, head over to this blog post.

Getting Paid Has Never Been Easier

Dubsado makes it so that your clients have a super simple experience with paying you (win-win). You can set your proposal to attach the contract and invoice with it, so instead of having to send them separately, they’ll be taken from one to the next in a 3-step process. Hello!

You can also integrate directly with Stripe, PayPal, or Square so that you get paid immediately once a client pays their invoice. If you thought it couldn’t get any better, Dubsado doesn’t take out any additional fees, so all that wonderful moola is yours to keep (aside from the standard fees your payment processor deducts).

KEEP TRACK OF FINANCES WITH BOOKKEEPING TOOLS

Dubsado also has multiple bookkeeping tools. You can track project sources, generate source reports, generate P&L statements, view all of your transactions and invoices, and more. Although they do integrate with Quickbooks and Xero, these native tools are perfect for the newer business owner who doesn’t need a robust system or just to serve as extra backup.

Give Clients Their Own Virtual Lounge

You can keep your clients organized as well, plus make them feel super special, with their very own client portal. Although this feature is optional because you don’t have to activate it for use with your clients, we highly recommend it as an extra wow factor. Even if your clients don’t end up utilizing it, it still comes off as very professional and got-your-shit-together-y. (Merriam-Webster, where ya at?)

In this #OfficialAF portal, clients can see:

  • Unread emails

  • Outstanding invoices

  • Incomplete forms

  • Email communication between you

  • Documents (including Dubsado forms, PDFs, and links)

  • Appointment schedulers (if sent to the client)

  • Appointment dates and times (if applied to the portal)

  • Your business information

  • The business and contact info you have on file for them, including the ability to edit it

  • Task boards or (if shared with them)

Dubsado gives you a share link to the portal, plus embed code so you can add it to a page on your website. Whenever you activate it for your clients, they can either login with just their email address, or you can set a password for them to use as well.

Need More Convincing? See for Yourself!

As much as we could sit here all day and rave about Dubsado, why not just try it out for yourself? They give you your first three clients for absolutely free with no time limit and no limited access to features, meaning you get the full Dubsado experience! Be sure to head here so that when it is time to upgrade, you get to save 30% on your first month or year. Once you do try it out (and guaranteed you’ll fall in love) report back to us on Instagram!
