How I Made 6-Figures from a Digital Product I Created Once
Episode 815: Show Notes
I made $ 287,000 and had over 10,000 people pay to join my email list from a digital product I created just once, and we’re going to dive into it during today’s show.
But first, an update on the visibility plan for 2024. After spending the last few years with a focus on retention marketing and helping people who are more established in their business, I craved getting to work with people at all stages. Whether they were just getting started or they were a few years into business but reaching capacity, I knew this could only happen if I got in front of people.
Most people are actually focused on nurture marketing, where they are taking warm leads and trying to convert them into a signature offer. That’s fantastic, but eventually, you will run out of leads if you don’t have some sort of visibility strategy. My goal today is to get to know more people, allow them into my world, and earn their trust so that they can see how Boss Project can help their business grow.
I’ve put together a roadmap to break down what has really been working for me and what I see continuing to work in 2024. Spoiler alert: I focused largely on Instagram reels and I have grown my social media accounts by 100s of people! I put together 22 Instagram captions and walked you through my ManyChat setup. This is all in a document I dropped in the Co-Op. If you aren’t a Co-op member yet, this is your sign to join!
The Secret Sauce of Building an Offer Ecosystem
Most online businesses only tend to focus on one business model. Whether its services, courses, coaching, or something else, they put all their time and emphasis into that one model. Individually, these are fantastic in the short term, but in the long term, I really believe the secret sauce is building an offer ecosystem. Use a visibility strategy to tell more people who you are and attract them with a gateway like a low-priced digital product. When someone purchases this, the whole goal is that they flow up through your various other offers and become a loyal customer for life. When they’re a loyal customer, they’re also very often an advocate for your business.
How Digital Products Differ from Any Other Offer
One reason I love to recommend digital products is that they act as a starting point but you also only build them once and then you can sell them again and again. When else in your business is that a possibility? That doesn’t mean you can’t go back and update things. Improving and refreshing things is built into Boss Project’s DNA. But with digital products, you don’t have to start over every time someone says yes. You can support them, give them additional resources and feedback, but you don’t have to rebuild the foundation every single time someone decides to work with you.
One Unexpected Reason Digital Products Worked for Me
About a year after starting this business, I was in a car accident. I suffered a traumatic brain injury and got very sick. I knew that the business I had built was too reliant on me. It required that I show up in every part of the sales process, and every part of fulfillment. In that season, I had to find another solution. Losing that income was going to be really hard. But through my digital products, people had access to how I thought and taught. It allowed people to respond with ‘Oh my god, this is incredible, I trust her so much, I can’t wait to see other things she does.’ I want you to build a business that can survive without you too!
What’s Truly Possible When You Start with the Right Strategy
I had never sold to clients before, I had a very small email list, no podcast, and no existing clients, and that first month, we brought in $8033. That’s 277 people who paid to join my list. My jaw was on the floor. Since then, this single product has brought in $ 287,941 and over 10,000 paid leads who joined our list. Over 60% of my list came from a paid product. They literally paid to be there. What would be different if you had an endless supply of qualified leads? What if you could make money regardless of whether you’re working on client deliverables or living your life? What would happen if you created the type of sustainability that offered true freedom? All of this is possible with the right strategy and I want to help you get there.
The Fundamental Strategy Behind My Most Successful Digital Product
I looked at the problems my clients were facing and I put them on a timeline. Typically, they have plenty of problems but one solution leads to a new set of problems. I identified what was at the beginning of that journey - what did they face first and what could they DIY as a solution with my guidance? I know that giving it the right structure with a no-brainer sales page will change the game for you. I have been building a brand new program to walk you through this step by step. If you head to bossproject.com/jumpstart I’m going to give you my exact strategies, offers, templates, and scripts on how to create digital products that attract more customers. So don’t wait, head on over now!
